Ian is the Boats Group rainmaker, overseeing the company’s North American sales and account management teams, which includes managing strategic relationships with more than 3,000 boat dealers and yacht brokers, as well as partnerships with OEMs and large dealer groups. Ian sets the sales and customer acquisition strategy, ensuring the company meets aggressive revenue and retention goals. Ian strives to create an environment that enables his team to succeed through training and development, turning them into consultants that make selling boats an even better experience for our industry partners.

Ian is a veteran in the digital classified space with 33 years of experience in the automotive industry, both domestically and internationally. Prior to joining Boats Group in July 2017, Ian spent 14 years of his career with AutoTrader.com where he played a key role on the leadership team, growing the business from $50 million to $1.2 billion in revenue. As Sr. Vice President of Sales at Auto Trader, Ian led the closure of Auto Trader Publishing, successfully shifting over $40 million in revenue from print to digital media in 2008. Ian has additionally served as a Cox Automotive featured corporate and industry speaker, in which his key missions were to advise on go-to-market strategies, sales processes, strategies and digital trends in the automotive industry.
