Norfolk, VA – May 5, 2009
BoatTrader.com, the Web site of Boat Trader magazine and a division of Dominion Enterprises, offers private party advertisers the option of posting user generated video and offers boat dealers a “Boat Clip” advertising option for each of their advertised boats.
Private party sellers can now upload their YouTube or Google Video file to their listing on BoatTrader.com, giving them the opportunity to feature unique options and key selling points to their boat. Uploading a video is simple using the step-by-step instructions provided during the “Sell My Boat” process. User-generated video is an option for all private party ad packages on BoatTrader.com.
“According to Online Publishers Association research, 52 percent of consumers take an action after viewing a video ad, so we are excited to offer an additional medium that helps our sellers generate more leads,” said David Bingham, Boat Trader general manager.
Marine dealers can take advantage of a new interactive method of showcasing their boats on BoatTrader.com. The company’s recently-launched Boat Clips include narrated slideshows that show off the boat’s best features. Each clip displays at least four images of the boat for sale, panned over for a video-like effect. A narrator describes the boat’s features, its location, and selling price, all set to upbeat background music. Marine dealers have the option to let Boat Trader’s data fields automatically create the spoken text or customize the narrated text themselves.
“Boat Trader is dedicated to driving leads to our sellers while establishing a positive user-experience for our consumers. Boat Clips and the user-generated video options for private party sellers allow us to achieve both goals,” commented Bingham.
Current dealers on BoatTrader.com will receive a complimentary 30-day trial of Boat Clips. Dealers can incorporate the clips alongside the photo gallery already in place.
According to a study by the Online Publishers Association, after viewing video ads, 31 percent of consumers visit the company’s Web site and 16 percent of consumers who view video ads make a purchase. Statistics such as these were key influences to the development of user generated video and Boat Clips to BoatTrader.com.
