BoatTrader.com and Yamaha Marine Group create online co-op advertising program available to Yamaha Marine Dealers

NORFOLK, Va., June 8, 2009

BoatTrader.com, the Web site of Boat Trader magazine and a division of Dominion Enterprises, has launched a BoatTrader.com Internet Classified Advertising Program for Yamaha Marine dealers, which allows Yamaha dealers to use co-op funds for advertising on the BoatTrader site.

“It’s clear that boaters are making the internet their first stop for research when buying a new boat. This program acknowledges that and allows the dealer to share the cost of online advertising with Yamaha,” said Frank Wilhelm, Yamaha Marine group advertising manager. “If the dealer is more successful selling boats, we will be more successful selling our outboards. The business climate is tough, and Yamaha dealers need to make every marketing penny count. This program is made for current conditions and the consumer shift to online shopping research.”

Yamaha Motor Company and BoatTrader.com have reached an agreement to authorize Yamaha’s U.S. outboard dealers to promote Yamaha outboards and Yamaha outboard-powered boats on BoatTrader.com. By following Yamaha’s prescribed Marine Internet Coop Advertising Guidelines applicable for BoatTrader.com, dealers may submit qualified BoatTrader.com advertising expenses for 50 percent co-op reimbursement. Yamaha Key Dealers will qualify of their usual higher co-op rates.

“Marine retailers are best focused on growing their businesses, not mired in a stack of paperwork,” said David Bingham, Boat Trader general manager. “BoatTrader.com will secure the proof of advertising and file the claim for reimbursement on behalf of the Yamaha dealer—absolutely free.”

All pre-approved claims submitted on behalf of Yamaha dealers through BoatTrader.com are guaranteed for reimbursement by BoatTrader.com if the claim should be rejected, by Yamaha, due to ad content. To qualify for the guarantee, all claims must be submitted for pre-approval prior to being placed.

Yamaha dealers may submit a claim under their co-op advertising accruals for one of three special BoatTrader.com advertising packages. Contact 757-351-7114 or 757-351-7162 for complete details and see the Yamaha Marine Internet Coop Advertising Guidelines for complete terms, conditions and procedures.
