boats.com, a division of Boats Group, has launched a dedicated German-language YouTube channel, “boats.com Deutschland.” It is the latest initiative by the online resource to deliver localized, relevant and engaging content to its audience of boating enthusiasts in Germany. The launch follows the success of the English-language boats.com channel that has delivered a huge following since its 2009 launch. With more than 7,500 subscribed viewers and 4.2 million views to date, the German version is set to follow suit.
In 2014, 45 million Germans watched videos on desktop and laptop computers, equaling 79% of Germany’s online population; a further 15.8 million Germans watched video via mobile devices. The boats.com Deutschland YouTube channel was launched in response to the level of video demand and consumption in the market. The channel offers German boaters a wide range of “First Look Videos” covering the newest power and sailboats as well as interviews with leading industry figures.
Germany is a dynamic and growing market for boats.com, so investing in the content delivery consumed across multiple platforms is a key focus. A team of German reviewers has been producing German-language video content since the 2014 Dusseldorf Boat Show, so there is already a broad collection of videos available to the German audience.
Katie Jackson, brand manager for boats.com, said, “The creation of a dedicated German-language YouTube channel was the obvious next step, given the recognized opportunity for video consumption in Germany and the measured success of the English-language channel. We hope this new resource for German boating enthusiasts will facilitate a community that is highly engaged with our video content.”
