Boats Group caught up with Steve Jejina, founder of Croatian yacht sales and charter company Aventur, to discuss their journey and how digital tools play a pivotal role in their operations.

Tell us about Aventur

Steve Jejina: I have been in the boating business since 1995, and I founded Aventur in 1996. My passion for boating began when I was 7 years old in sailing school in Trogir, Croatia. It’s safe to say that sailing is very dear to me.

Aventur is a company that specialises in charters, providing sailing and cruise holidays. In addition we are also an exclusive boats, engine and luxury water toys dealership for some of the world’s top brands such as JOKERBOAT, MV MARINE, SCORPION RIBS, STERK YACHTS, EVO YACHTS, OLYMPIC RIBS, DOOSAN Marine diesel engines, VANCLAES Trailers, LAMPUGA electric surfboards, AUDI by AEROFOILS, and YACHTBEACH platforms.

Most recently, we have become an official dealer for ASTONDOA Yachts in Croatia, which we are very excited about. Our goal is to help our clients have new and memorable experiences through boating, whether renting or owning.

Which Boats Group package are you subscribed to?

I joined Boats Group as a YachtWorld customer in 2018, and have been pleased with my experience ever since. We are currently on the Boats Group YachtWorld PLUS package, with 11 vessels currently listed on the platform.

This package offers more services for us dealers. Everyone’s needs depend on their type of business – other portals didn’t work for us because we wanted a portal where we are present on a constant basis to build our brand reputation.

The Boats Group team helped us understand what each of the packages had to offer, and we understood that YachtWorld PLUS package was the best fit for our business.

Most importantly, since switching to this package, it has been simpler for us because we don’t need to individually assess different products for our marketing strategy—our results have improved, and we have sold more because we had the tools we needed.

Which advanced digital tools do you find most valuable for your business and why?

LeadSmart is incredibly valuable to us. It helps in qualifying potential buyers and understanding their needs, which saves us time and increases efficiency. We also use the ProSeller platform (former MLS) and Professional Boat Shopper (PBS), which are useful for ensuring we set a right price for the market.

How has your use of Boats Group platforms and tools contributed to the growth and success of your business?

Despite a quieter market, YachtWorld stands out as the only platform that effectively supports our global sales. Other platforms we tested didn’t offer the same results and you don’t find the same quality of buyers. YachtWorld’s extensive reach and range of services support the growth of my business so it is a more well-rounded experience.

Can you share a specific success story or achievement that you attribute to using our tools and platforms?

Aventur has evolved significantly since our early days when boat shows were our main sales strategy. Today, YachtWorld allows us to connect with serious buyers worldwide, which is crucial for our high-value boats, some costing over €4 million. It’s like using Google for boating—essential for reaching clients from around the world, no matter where they’re located.

We have access to a high-quality international clientele, including from cities like Miami, New York, Vienna, Budapest and Milan. Clients that are serious and financially able to spend that type of money can only be found on YachtWorld- so I don’t branch out to use other portals.

The platform’s ability to attract high-quality leads has been instrumental in our success and growth. We’ve been loyal customers of the platform for many years, and I think our investment has been well worth it.
