New product garners excellent industry response

DX1 launch at MDCE eventBoats Group (Boats Group), the division of Dominion Enterprises that operates YachtWorld.com, BoatTrader.com and boats.com, successfully launched DX1 — a new business management solution specifically developed for dealerships — at the Marine Dealer Conference and Expo (MDCE) event in Orlando, Florida, on Monday.

Ian Atkins, senior vice president and general manager of Boats Group, said, “We’ve been overwhelmed by the response to DX1 and the requests by U.S. dealers to become early adopters.  More than 100 trials of DX1 will be taking place at the MDCE event, demonstrating the need for a product like this in the sector.  We’d like to thank all those involved in its development, including our marine dealer partners who worked with us to create this end-to-end business management solution. ”

Atkins continued, “We’ve developed DX1 to be best in class and to help marine dealers across the industry be more successful. We believe it will have a significant positive impact on the sector, and it is a major step forward in the way dealers can run their businesses.  Much of today’s software still requires dealers to perform redundant tasks across other data sources, business functions and products.  Solving these problems was the inspiration behind DX1.”

The launch event was attended by more than 120 people, including dealers, OEMs, MRAA and NMMA board members, and media representatives.

During the launch event, Ian Atkins introduced Damir Tresnjo, vice president of technology for Dominion Business Solutions and DX1 project leader, whom he described as “the driving force behind DX1”.

Craig Clements, owner of Palm City Yachts, who has been involved in DX1 trials for a number of months leading up to this week’s launch, said, “We are very excited to be involved with such a unique product. DX1 gives our business the functionality to operate more efficiently, saving both time and money.  It’s extremely user-friendly and easy to learn.”
