Just released, the 2015 YachtWorld Market Index reports small increases in year-end brokerage sales figures for Europe and the U.S. combined, as well faster average times required to sell boats in both markets. A total of 37,980 boats sold for $5.65 billion in 2015, according to reports by YachtWorld member brokerages in SoldBoats.
Countries reporting sales growth in Europe were France, Italy, the Netherlands, and Spain. The strongest U.S. regions were the Southeast, Great Lakes, and Pacific Northwest.
The Index also reports the most-sold brands in the most popular boat classes. In Europe, Jeanneau, Beneteau, and Bavaria models were the leading sellers in the top class, the Sail Cruiser. In the U.S., where the Power Cruiser was top seller, a third of all boats sold were Sea Ray models. Bayliner and Formula were second and third, respectively.
